Match Report | Away Day Disappointment for DuchyIt was a wet and stormy drive up to Teign for the mens 1s. The stormy start to the day, should have been seen as a omen for what was to come. Teign put out a boisterous side with several skilled playmakers and managed the early possession well. However Duchy dug deep and continued to play hard in the face of some salty play from their opponents. 10mins in a scramble in front of goal saw Teign win and score a penalty flick. Play resumed and the tension between the two sides continued to develop a mustardy flavour. Teign showed great composure in front of goal with one of their forwards controlling the ball skilfully off his chest and into the Duchy net for 2-0. Half time gave an opportunity for the Duchy men to reset and refocus and for much of the second half they controlled play and developed several good chances in front of goal. However sadly a goal was hard to come by. Mid way through the second half Teign quickly broke away from an intercepted pass and were rewarded with a third. The game ended 0-3. |
