Match Report | A gutsy performance from Duchy. Seeing a depleted Okhampton side of 10 players left us seeing an opportunity of a strong result. However, a well drilled, organised Okey turned up and played fast flowing attacking hockey. 2 early goals rattled us, especially myself (Stephen) as one deflected in off me! We built into the game and started finding each other more with better passing and movement finally creating much improved attacking play is down either flank and through the middle, a return to the team saw Reynolds back in the middle battling for every ball, and it was good to see a new addition to the team in Jay May who provided great endeavour down the left. Sadly altho we scored 2 goals (Colin Thomas, Ben Parker) it wasn't enough, as swift counter attacks made the result 4.2 to Okey. Special mention goes to Ethan Allen who kept the score to a minimum and showed great composure and maturity at such a young age. Mom was a close one to call with Ben Parker winning just ahead of Sherlock. Onwards and upwards chaps, we're a team in it's very early stages of development so it'll take time, but we will get there! |
