Match Report | Duchy Stretch Lead Despite DrawA below-par display saw Duchy drop their first points of the season in a fiery draw against East Devon B in Exeter. An excellent start for the visitors saw Lee Selby smash home a pass from Justin Churchill after only three minutes to put Duchy 1-0 ahead, however the encouraging start rapidly tailed off and East Devon did well to get back into the game. With fifteen minutes on the clock the scores were levelled when Duchy failed to properly clear a penalty corner, allowing Steve Maynard to guide the ball home for 1-1; with the match then remaining deadlocked until the interval. Duchy regrouped at half time, but were unable to lift their performance after the break; and - in an increasingly fractious atmosphere - were ultimately relieved to come away with at least point; particularly with East Devon threatening to score a winner of their own late on. Man of the Match was awarded to captain, Stu Richardson. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ East Devon B | Steve Maynard 15f Duchy A | Lee Selby 3f |
