Duchy close Goal-Difference Gap with Double Figures in Plymouth

A huge 10-0 win for Duchy over Plym Valley IIs saw the Cornish side narrow the gap at the top of Trelawney 1, with Amy Looker scoring five.

At the start of the day,Duchy were level on points with Plym Valley 1s at the top of the division but with a significantly inferior goal difference, before a magnificent performance - ironically against Plym Valley's 2nd XI - closed the gap to just a single goal scored.

A fast start saw Amy Chippett open the scoring, before Looker fired home a quick brace to extend the lead to 3-0 with fifteen minutes played. A neat penalty corner saw Chippett claim her second for 4-0, before Gemma Pellow set up first Page Peters and then Looker to make it 6-0 at the break. 

Chippett claimed her hattrick at the start of the second period with another penalty corner strike, before Rachel Brannlund oppened her account for Duchy to make the score 8-0 with a quarter of the match to play; and the rout was completed byLooker, who struck twice more in the closing stages to make the final tally 10-0. 

Man of the Match was jointly awarded to Grace Pellow Firth & Rachel Brannlund
