Match Report | Stanlake Hat-Trick as Truro Win Pre-Season EncounterDuchy put up a brave fight against Premiership Truro but ultimately succumbed to a 4-1 defeat, with Nick Stanlake scoring a hat-trick for the visitors. A goal-less first twenty minutes saw Duchy defend stoicallyand frustrate their oponents, however two goals in quick sucession - a powerful strike from Stanlake and a deflected effort from Martin Rowe - put Truro in the box seats by the half way point of the match. Duchy continued to search for a response, however Truro were always a threat and with a quarter of the match remaining took the lead to 3-0 with a Stanlake penalty corner, before the Truro man sealed his hat-trick on the hour mark with a rebound from a Kev Welsh save. Three minutes from time Duchy collected a deserved consolation when Lee Selby turned home a rebound from a Virgis Sedvydis strike; and the match finished with a 4-1 scoreline and several positives for Duchy despite defeat. Man of the match was awarded to Tristan Askew for a hard working midfield performance. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Duchy | 1 | Lee Selby 67f Truro | 4 | Nick Stanlake 25f, 48pc, 60f; Martin Rowe 29f |
