Match Report | Truro Coast to Victory in Second #HockeyIsBack FriendlyAn impressive first half showing set Truro on their way to a comfortable 4-1 victory over Duchy as the two sides met for the second week in a row after the long covid-enforced break. Duchy fielded a completely different squad to that which drew 1-1 with Truro the previous week, including debutants Jen Brodderick and Tom Dainton, and the match started at a quick pace with both clubs carving out early chances. Fred Freeborn gave Truro the lead after 13 minutes with a neat stike, and the home side the pressed home their advantage with a good spell of play which saw Fergus Laity score from the penalty spot and Curtis Webb add a third. Stu Barbery responded for Duchy with a powerful finish shortly before the interval; which preceded a somewhat lower-key second half in which Laity struck again to give Truro an eventual 4-1 win. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Truro | 4 | Fred Freeborn 13f; Fergus Laity 17ps, 55f; Curtis Webb 27f Duchy | 1 | Stuart Barbery 30f |
