Match Report |
A hugely entertaining mixed match against a Truro XI, played in the best spirit under the lights at Pool.
Truro had a solid first half and went ahead through Sophie Dickinson who was on hand to sweep home a cross at the back post, with Tom O'Boyle doubling the lead just before the interval after capitalising on a Duchy error to finish well from close range.
Duchy improved after the break, upping their passing accuracy and seeing a noticeable increase in possession. The change rapidly brought dividends, with Max Chippett sliding a pass to Yasmin Walters who finished well for 2-1.
Duchy continued to press and claimed an equaliser with fifteen minutes to go after earning a sucssion of penalty corners which ultimately saw a Charlie Blewett shot only half-cleared, with the ball falling to Tom Dainton who crashed home an unstoppable effort from 10m.
Both sides pressed for a winner in the closing stages, but the match ultimately finished as a 2-2 draw which was probably a fair reflection of a well contested and entertaining game.
